This course offers students an opportunity to explore and reflect collaboratively on a number of contentious contemporary issues regarding education. As students are about to start their new professional journey, it is significant for us not only to have a critical understanding of these educational issues and their implications for teaching practices and curriculum planning, but also to examine reflectively on our own beliefs and what shapes them. With this in mind, the ultimate goal of the course is to equip students to participate effectively and critically in discussions about the ideological framework of the profession they are about to enter.
