This course explores the psychological foundations and processes that shape romantic relationships, from initial attraction to long-term commitment and potential dissolution. It examines individual and interpersonal factors influencing partner choice, bonding, love, and commitment. The course also reviews the major stages of couple relationships, including formation, maintenance, conflict, separation, and recommitment.
In addition, students will gain an understanding of psychodynamic, behavioral, and systemic approaches to couple therapy, integrating theory with practical case analysis.
