
Introduction to Recording Technology is a course designed to give musicians basics of the digital recording techniques involving a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), in occurrence Avid Pro Tools, and lead them to be creative and up to date using the tools available in this new “digital world.”
Suppose this course is not a composition or performance course. It still is part of the Music Department's offer, and musicians are to compose and perform recordings of their performances and Midi programming on several projects. By going through the basics of analog recordings to the most common digital technology, the students will develop their skills to achieve and improve their recordings. More than that, this course is also designed to enhance creativity by producing multi-media projects through the experiment of professional situations in which modern musicians must be able to accomplish good quality productions, recordings and digital (MIDI) programing, whether for themselves or a producer.
It is a lot of fun, very creative, and brings the musicians new skills that will change how they make or think about music!
