In this class, students will learn basic scales, chords and arpeggios as well as general techniques useful for any kind of keyboard related music. Students will learn how to sightread treble and bass clef on the piano. Each lesson will touch on different piano fundamental skills that can be applied to many genres. Practical exams will include performing material seen in class (scales, arpeggios, chord progressions), short sight-reading tests as well as a chosen piece by the student from a selection offered by the teacher. To accommodate a wide range of genres and skills, the offered repertoire will consist of important classical, pop and jazz works.
