In this open and welcoming course, students will be introduced to the basic elements of directing a play, including interpretation, analysis, visual presentation, use of space, and rehearsal techniques. Students will share research findings on different directing styles from twentieth and twenty-first century directors. Students will also have two opportunities to rehearse, collaborate with peers, and share directed scenes this semester.
