This course presents an interdisciplinary approach to the study of African politics, encompassing its social, geographic, and economic dimensions. The attention is drawn to the colonial experiences, contemporary political situations, and the diverse historical trajectories of the 54 countries that constitute Africa.
Within the course, Africa is scrutinized both as a continent with shared aspirations among its people and as a region comprising independent states with unique historical experiences. The focus spans from pre-colonial Africa to the modern era, capturing the intricate political trajectory. Importantly, this course does not center on the examination of a particular country. Instead, it is structured to amalgamate case studies and various thematic elements, offering a comprehensive exploration of the dynamics shaping African politics and history.
