This course views the management of operations as the design, management and control of business processes. The course introduces the decisions and trade-offs associated with production of goods and services.

The course attempts to make you aware in the language of operations management, provide you with quantitative and qualitative tools to analyze basic operations issues, allow you to see the role of operations management in the overall strategy of the firm, and discover the impact of operations decision in the Finance and Marketing areas.

Topics include: strategy in operations, process design and selection for goods and services, capacity planning, quality, lean manufacturing, inventory management, aggregate planning, MRP/ERP, JIT and Lean Management and a brief introduction to supply chains.
